In the aftermath of the flood, Rupert’s basement has turned into a fluctuating field of matter and radiation through field recordings, DIY sound objects, lights and low-frequency vibration. The work creates entanglements of wires, sound objects and tech devices alongside spatial movements through sound to stage the familiar within the fictional and indicate the instability of perception. Basement is meant to provoke subjective associations by implementing sonic and spatial probabilities within the room’s architecture.
