Insight
For over four years a wide range of creative projects, from conceptualizing the bookstore’s interior to designing visual identity for multiple categories of books, print and digital content was designed.
The name “Hanooz” is inspired by a verse from the contemporary Iranian poet Ahmad Shamlou: We revolve around the night and around the day and around the now…. which is the core concept of this project. The visual identity for Hanooz was designed to reflect the essence of this poetic line. Drawing from the rhythmic and cyclical themes of day, night, and repetition, the design incorporates the fluidity and literary form of the Farsi alphabets and its punctuation. This approach not only honors the meaning of the poem but also establishes a distinctive and cohesive aesthetic that resonates with the publication’s cultural and literary roots and purpose.

Literature Books
For this series, a colorful and playful yet minimalistic design was requested. The central narrative element was conceived as a speech bubble, uniquely illustrated to align with the story of each book. This illustrated speech bubble concept is seamlessly integrated with the brand identity, starting with three dots—an element from the publication’s logo. The speech bubble serves as a dynamic container, encapsulating all typographic information while maintaining a cohesive and visually engaging design language that reflects the individuality of each story.

Art Books
This series’ design takes its shape from an artwork discussed in the book. The line drawing of the artwork fuse with three dots (Publication’s logo) and interacts with the text layout on the cover.

Interdisciplinary Books
Each book of this series deals with two subjects of the humanities. The illustration is inspired by mythical hybrid creatures (sphinxes, minotaurs, …).
Two simple forms thematically based on the book slide across a line and interact with the book title, creating a new myth.

Lifestyle Books

Music Books
These three volumes are scores written by M.reza Darwischi. It’s his new compositions for three old Iranian songs. Diamond shape dots, part of Farsi letters, are designed to convey the rhythm, dynamic and harmony of his music with placing the notes of a page in the score in each volume.

Philosophy Books
The logo dynamically moves and interacts with lines, objects, paper edges, and images. Its connecting line is inspired by the aesthetics of goldsmith connections.

Weekly Event Posters
More than 70 posters was designed for weekly events of Hanooz publication. Illustration of the posters are a combination of two simple shapes in black and white which convey the theme of the event interacting with the event’s logo which is fixed in the middle of the poster.
